Does proactiv really work (for people who have used it or use it)?

i had mild acne like you and i tried proactiv and it worked well for about a week and then nothing happened after that which was really dissapointing....so i decided to go to a dermatologist and he gave me good products just for my skin and i have pretty clear skin now :]
