Hi. The rule of thumb is to supply one inch of fish per gallon of water in the tank. I believe that if you are wanting to breed more fish you need to get a bigger tank,maybe 20 gallons at least. Red plattys are a good choice for live breeders and black mollies thrive well with them. If you want an array of colors you could add some speckled mollies. They all co-exist very well together and provide for a beautiful show of colors in your tank. Happy breeding to you!
