How long did it take to get over your first love?

I really believe my last ex was my first real love. I mean, It has been almost 4 months since he broke up with me and I'm still not over him. There were times where he still loved me after the break up and then simply stop communicating with me.. It really saddens me to feel like he moved on from something special we both had. Is it normal to still think about someone you still love? I mean, usually it would take me a month or so to get over someone.. but we were each others first loves for everything. Can guy moves on from their first love that quickly?
