What does it mean when a guy doesnt respond to your text at all?

Sooo theres this guy that i met through a friend where one thing led to another and we exchanged phone numbers. We had been texting for about a month and saw eachother at the gym but we only had time to say hi. When we text things were perfectly normal and this guy seemed interested in me too. One day i text him but he never replied back. its been about 2 months now and he still hasnt spoken to me. By the way, i am in high school and this guy is very shy, but Im so confused why he just stopped talking to me. Did he just lose interest or did i freak him out or what? I have seen him in person lately and he doesnt even acknowledge that im there, and his friends always tease him about me and he gets embarrased. Can anyone tell me what he might be thinking!??!?!?!?
