HMMMM. sweating?

I've heard that when you sweat while working out, it makes you lose more weight. So let's say you like to jog. If you were jogging outside on a hot day, and you were sweating alot- it would be a more effective way to be tone/ lose weight/ etc. than jogging on a tredmill in air condition? Thanks in advance! Any additional info. is appreciated!
